In about 20 months, a new Owasso Library is going to emerge with a first for Oklahoma: Apartments for rent.
At the end of the summer, the existing library will close and move into a temporary location at 5th Avenue Business Park. The current facility at 103 W. Broadway St. will be demolished and rebuilt to double in size and offer three stories of multifamily housing units.

It’s no secret that several library branches in Tulsa County need to be rebuilt due to age and increased use. It’s something Kimberly Johnson, the library system chief executive officer, has mentioned for years.
Now, library officials are planning a capital campaign to construct four new libraries: Rudisill Regional (1520 N. Hartford Ave.), South Broken Arrow (3600 S. Chestnut Ave.), Owasso (103 W.
